Just a couple days after I visited the wetlands alone, I came back with my kids. This time I had the time to explore a little more. I’m so glad my kids enjoy bird watching, too. It’s a fun thing for us to do together. For the first time in many weeks, I’m able to add more birds to my year-long list.

Last week’s bird post was showcasing a nest of barn swallow babies. We also have a number of other juvenile birds hanging around.
Every year barn swallows make nests in the eaves of our house or in Farmer John’s Man Shack. This year they built one of their nests in a perfect place for baby observing. The other day I took the kids to a park that we had never been to. We explored the park for about an hour, mostly walking around the pond. The walk was nice. My boys especially enjoyed it. But, I only saw a handful of birds & don’t get to add new ones to my list. 🙁 We did see many dragonflies & damselflies, though.
