Pacific NW Plants: Western Trillium
One of my favorite spring plants is the Western Trillium, or Trillium ovatum. It is lovely with its showy white flower against the greens and browns of the forest floor.

Last October we took a road trip. One of the places we visited was the California Academy of Sciences. There were many great exhibits, but my sole purpose for going there was to see their rainforest dome. It did not disappoint. It was really quite awesome.
