On our road trip one of the stops along the way was Disneyland. I still remember when I was a kid loving to meet the characters and get their autographs. I wanted my kids to have the same great experience. So, I made them their own autograph books.
Continent Box – Europe
Our final continent box is full of all things European. Europe has so many different cultures & many got left out of our box. Hopefully I will continue to find fun things to add to this box.
Continent Box – Asia
Here’s a peek into the goodies in Asia’s box.
Continent Box – Australia
Here is Australia’s continent box. It has the same basic things as my other boxes. I’d like to add a boomerang, some vegemite and a Wiggles & Crocodile Dundee movie.
Biomes of the World: Coral Reef
The next stop on our trip around the world was the Great Barrier Reef in Australia studying the coral reef biome. I especially loved this week because many years ago I used to scuba dive & this brought back many fun memories. Google defines a coral reef as: a ridge of rock in the sea formed by the growth and deposit of coral
Continent Box – Africa
Africa is such a fun continent with its zebras, giraffes, hieroglyphics & pyramids. I would love for us to do a more in depth study of Africa. Here’s what we’ve got in the continent box so far.
Virtual World Trip Overview
For 9 weeks we will be doing a unit on biomes. The first week was an introduction to habitat & biomes & a review of the continents. The next seven weeks we will be visiting (in our imaginations) each of the 7 continents & stopping in 7 different biomes. The last week we will use to tie up any loose ends.
Continent Box – North America
Since we live here, the North America continent box was the easiest to put together. There are many more items I could add to this box – eventually I will.
