I would define us as modern homesteaders. This means different things to different people. For us, we strive for self sufficiency. We raise and grow as much as we can within our time, money, and space constraints. We are environmentally conscience as we tend to our animals and gardens. This doesn’t mean we always use organic or chemical free options, but we do keep it in mind. We hope to teach our kids to be self sufficient, resourceful, and that food doesn’t just come from the grocery store.
Farmer John has lived this way most of his life. I am a bit of a newbie, embracing this lifestyle for the past decade. We set many homesteading goals. Not all of them work out the way we hoped, but we take it all as a learning experience. I share some of those experiences here.
