This year I went with a Whoville theme for our holiday photo booth. We love The Grinch, so it seemed like we would have a lot of fun with it. Which, we did.
I created our Whoville backdrop in a corner of our great room.
I found the perfect starry night paper roll at Joann’s. I taped that up first.
In front of the star paper went the mountains. I cut them out of shimmery silver wrapping paper from Target. It looked beautiful in person. But, the paper reflected light so much that it didn’t work well in the photos.
Next, up went the Whoville homes made primarily from poster board. Inspiration for the houses came from this post.
The snow in front & on the ground was a combination of butcher paper, fake fluffy snow and a white sheet.
It took a few hours to get our little Whoville put together, but it wasn’t difficult.
WHOVILLE CLOSE UP
The main parts of the houses were cut from poster board. Construction paper was used for the doors & windows. I used sharpie’s to add details.
The lights along the roof lines were colored coding labels. Lights around the door were the smaller coding labels.
FUN PROPS & PHOTOS
Whoville lends itself to many fun photo opportunities.
I used the template from this post to make the Grinch mask.
